COMMON MISTAKES MADE BY PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN ANSWERING EXERCISES OF ACTIVITY BOOK AS PERCEIVED BY ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS

Abstract

The present study searches on the common mistakes that made by students of primary schools in answering all the exercises in activity book as perceived by English language teachers  of primary schools. It is also search on  the main solutions of this problem. The sample of this study consists of 164 teachers after excluding the pilot sample which is 20 teachers of this study. The researcher constructs his questionnaire which includes two parts :the first part represents the common mistakes  that make by pupils of primary schools and the second part represents the reasons of  making these mistakes in learning English at  the primary schools. The first part includes : verb  position, noun position , wrong pronoun usage, singular  / plural nouns error ,repeating or omitting  letters, whereas the second part of this questionnaire includes the main reasons that play negative effect on making these mistakes as perceived by teachers. i.e.  :school environment, curriculum design , home work ,and instruction of activity book. A questionnaire has sent to the sample. There are some  results obtained  in  this study .On the basis of these results, conclusions are drawn and recommendations made.
