Abstract

At first, the various devices of digital radiology of the thorax are studied. The memory plates, the most widespread equipment, are particularly developed as well as other receivers such as selenium cylinder and the direct selenium detector. Other receivers are also studied, including indirect planar detectors and detectors with four high resolution CCD cameras. In a second step, the main image treatments are analyzed: the gradation curves, the subtraction of the mask blur the principle, dynamic scale compression, and dual energy subtraction images. The advantages and disadvantages of digital chest radiology are finally addressed with the main advantages an almost constant quality of the images obtained and the possibility of processing the images.
