Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the political stability and socio-economic development in Mogadishu, Somalia. The objectives were to examine the political accountability and socio-economic development, and to find out the effects of administrative accountability on socio-economic development in Mogadishu, Somalia. This research used descriptive methods to assess the impact of political stability on Mogadishu's socioeconomic development. Researcher invited 160 participants from the politicians, civil society, and non-governmental sectors to debate the link between governance and development in this area. To ensure the correctness and reliability of the study, 114 respondents were recruited using the Slovene technique. Questionnaires were used to collect data, and I analyzed the results with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study found that the level of administrative and political accountability influences socio-economic advancement. According to respondents, transparent companies that save resource and ensure accountability contribute to a better society, fewer corruption, and economic growth. However, below-average results in these two areas suggest that the company's governance may be improved. Mogadishu's growth cannot be inclusive and sustainable unless accountability is improved and more people participate in democracy.
