Adaptation Strategy of Agricultural Land Hut (Gubuk) in Ngadas Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang East Java

Abstract

This paper is intended to study the results of community adaptation to “gubukTengger” (huts) in Ngadas Village, Poncokusumo district, Malang Regency East Java. The important strategy is to create a gubuk (huts) in agricultural cultivation. The <em>Gubuk, Pondokan, Gubuk klakah (huts) constructed of various local materials is a primitive small house that placing in the garden or the field agricultural. The data is colected by open interview, open indept interview, also semi-structured interview 20 households in the Ngadas village. The research study had been conducted from 20th  January, 2017 to 20nd December, 2017 in Ngadas village. Based on the results obtained in gubuk (huts) covers cooking equipment, pawon (fireplace), firewoods, <em>dingklik, farm equipment for example <em>pacul (hoe), strings, load stick, kranjang (bamboo basket) etc. In the place  found by cows, goats, pigs and horses, including cattle feed. On the other hand, the huts that economic central and information, temporary rest, land management  preparation,  temporary storage of production and discussion place of family. Gubuk Tengger has multi-function i.e. as supporting many activities life, supporting agricultural activities, for raising animal, customary ritual, tourism and for their trade activities. The main crop species cultivated in Ngadas village viz kentang, potato (Solanum tuberosum), kobis (Brasicca oleracea), bawang prei, leek (Allium fistulosum) and gandum putih, local corn (Zea mays). The diversity of livestock in the hut includes <em>sapi, cows, (Bos taurus), babi, pigs (Sus scrofa), pitek, chikens (Gallus gallus), kambing, goats (Capra aegagrus) and jaran, horses (Equus caballus). The huts is Tengger life is an adaptation strategy, interesting portraits, harmonies and beautiful scenery. These intregrated management appears to be key element for the sustainable development of these village.
