The new distribution areas of the Aethionema R. Br. Genus in the highland regions of the Nakhchivan autonomous republic of Azerbaijan
Abstract
There are over 3709 species of the Brassicaceae Burnett. family, belonging to 338 genera worldwide [Al-Shehbaz et al., 2006]. In Azerbaijan, 248 species from 74 genera are found [Askerov A.M. (2016)]. In the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 165 species from 67 genera of the Brassicaceae Burnett. family are distributed [Talibov T.G. et al. (2021)]. Only the number of species included in the genus Aethionema R.Br. has been accounted for. The species were identified during research conducted in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic: 1. Aethionema arabicum (L.) Lipsky, 2. Aethionema cardiophyllum Boiss. & Heldr., 3. Aethionema cordatum (Desf.) Boiss., 4. Aethionema diastrophis Bunge, 5. Aethionema edentulum N.Busch, 6. Aethionema fimbriatum Boiss., 7. Aethionema pulchellum Boiss. & Huet., 8. Aethionema Szowitsii Boiss. (A. elengatum auct.), all of which belong to the genus Aethionema R.Br.
