Meaning of Prison Between Reality and Self in Iraqi Poetry (Al-Sayaab and Nazik Al-Malaika as a Model)
Abstract
Poetry is an expression of poets’ misgivings and their views, that became otherness not only personality. Whenever the poetic experience be true and the suffering is real, the poetic product will be sober and interesting at the same time. Since ancient times, the poet used to assume freedom, which goes through the poetry measures & styles without the need to waves to take it to the beaches. And how many poets were his/her poems that have written in the prison were more true and effect, which have eternities them in their own life, so a lot of great poets have jailed, and others are prisoned, so their distress in prison was great supporter to appear what was hidden in their conscience, their poetry became a beautiful space, whereas tenders of conscience are coming together in different situations, that belong to technical experiences, which gives result which we stand on today with deference and respect. Accordingly, in this research we want to highlight on another concept of prison exceed as we know it, we feel between letters rails, iron, pain and blood to another creep in the depths of the human self, foundering a pattern we preferred to call it (self-imprisonment), we selected two models that form the research, they are : Badir Shakir Al-Sayaab and Nazik Al-Malaika everyone both according to his/her sense of crisis that has suffered, Al-Sayaab has two model of prisons, real prison and prison of self, while Nazik Al-Malaika has a self-prison according to true life which both of poets lived in, the poets Badir Shakir al-Sayaab and Nazik Al-Malaika were both exposed to a different type of prison, so Al-Sayaab has lived in both prisons together (the real prison and self-prison), his poetic texts are expressive and truthful, they talk about his state, and talk about the suffering for every person, although his self-incarceration was more effective on himself and his way of thinking than the real prison, because of the self-incarceration represents the focus of the person's starting point and its reaction in behavior and dealing is greater than the other, which considers the result of an emergency-case that may be removed by the disappearance of the cause or retraction of the act against the other. While the experience of Nazik Al-Malaika in the real prison wasn’t mention, because she have never exposed for this experience, while the self- incarceration was the largest invasion of all freedom doors, which is naturally open to every person in the world, but Nazik Al-Malaika has tightened the self around her, and made her-self a captive to its controls and laws, and made her-self different from any woman, whether poet or normal woman.
