Effect of palm pollen seeds “Phoenix Dactylifera”on masculineinfertility (In vivo test on rabbits)
Abstract
Treating infertility is the dream of all couples who are unable to conceive after many years of their union. Medical Assistance to Procreation is a solution, but which still remains uncertain, however, the most crucial is its cost remains too expensive. For this reason, many couples tend to resort to traditional medicine even if the result remains poor, but at least it is at a lower cost. In this concordance we undertook our study, the objective was to evaluate the effect of palm pollen seeds on male infertility, we used on rabbits as guinea pigs. Our experiment is extended as follows: After a week of adaptation, we divided the rabbits into different batches, the control batch and three other batches which suffered from the blocking of spermatogenesis by an anti-androgen "Decapeptyl" for one week. The following three weeks, two batches were subjected to stimulation, one batch by a pharmaceutical androgen "Testosterone" the other batch by the infusion of pollen seeds and the last batch remained without stimulation. After we sacrificed the animals, we calculated the indices of sexual maturity from the weights and lengths of the rabbits and their gonads. In the last phase, we made histological sections of the gonads of all the experimented rabbits. The results obtained show that there were no significant differences in the sexual maturity indices for the different batches. While for the microscopic observation of the histological sections of the testicles, we noticed a regeneration of the seminiferous tubules, whereas it was atrophied by the effect of anti-androgen, with a very important presence of spermatozoa. We therefore conclude that palm pollen seeds have a very obvious effect re-triggering Spermatogenesis, therefore, a definite effect on male infertility.
